1996 BMW R1100RSL SE
Rare R1100RSL SE in excellent condition!
Loved and well maintained.
Excellent service history. Known and documented.
Currently it has 70541 miles. It’s a good looking motorcycle, and I fell in love and just had to have it. I had never seen a red rs with the lower fairing. I’m a detail freak. So I took it apart and cleaned polished and shined everything I could. I found no oil leaks just typical road grime. I replaced a few scuffed parts. Tires are good. Replaced at 69688.miles. Reconditioned the valve covers. Buffed and polished the paint.
This bike is a testament to how good an older bike can look, run, drive, and endure the test of time, if it’s taken care of.
Maintenance I have performed:
Adjusted the valves
Installed new spark plugs (old ones were actually fine)
Replaced the alternator (V) belt. (Supposed to be done every 36k).
Upgraded the fuel injectors. “Fuel injector set upgrade EV14 Enduralast”.
Changed the oil

Everything works like it should. It starts, idles, runs, shifts, and brakes really good. You can turn ABS off on these Gen1’s. Heated grips. No flat spots through out the rev range. It’s a wonderful motorcycle and a pleasure to ride. The suspension soaks up the tarmac effortlessly and it corners good too.
The 1st-Gen RS's are fantastic all-arounders, with adjustable bars, 3 position seat, adjustable windscreen. Rear remote-adjustable preload, plenty of sport for the mountains and plenty of comfort for the interstate.
Ohlins adjustable shocks front and rear (Pre-load and Rebound)
Stainless braided brake lines
MR bar back adjustable risers
Laser duo sound exhaust (removable baffle)
Throttlemeister bar ends with friction cruise control
Valentine 1 Radar system
Corbin seats. The previous owner had the rider seat modified to fit him (mystery)
Owners manual with service history
Clymer Service manual
BMW Hard bags with City Lids (City Lids have been discontinued and are really hard to find).
Not sure what the SE designation means or how the SE model differs from others. The previous owner swore it was an SE model. The only thing I think it might be is that it has a blacked out motor. I have not seen any others quite like this.
Can deliver to the Salem, Portland, Eugene area.
Asking $3750 OBO.
