Award Winning 1965 R69S
This award winning bike was restored in 1999 and won the 2000 Mid Ohio Vintage days bike show with a 1st place in European. The following year it won the 2001 Mid Ohio Vintage Days show with a Best-in-Show Marshalls Choice Award. There has been no expense spared on this bike. The drivetrain components were built by Bob's BMW in Jessup, MD with the engine receiving performance upgrades including a 348 cam with lightened flywheel and high compression pistons with the appropriate carb rejetting, giving a dyno run of 52 horsepower. All part used were the highest quality such as Sachs clutch, Venhill cables, SS spokes and rebult Weinmann alloys by Buchanans, Glasurit Urethane Avus black paint with multiple clearcoats on all sheet metal and the frame also, textured aluminum restored by acid wash and polish (no bead blasting), matching numbers, Konis all around, all aluminum components polished, SS fittings and axles, updated wheel seals, Swiss roller bearing headset, Pentacomm points, and so on and on. I have the original owners manual with notations on all services up to the rebuild, I have all receipts for parts installed and work performed. This beautiful and powerful bike looks and runs better than a new one and is very dependable. It starts 1st kick and is flawless in appearance. It has won more awards than listed here as well.
