1997 R1100RT Engine Parts I have a cylinder and two engine heads with valves and a matched piston set with rings out of a 1997 R1100RT with only 16,xxx miles on it. One of the heads has a few of the threaded sections broke out, a metal worker could fix this with a helicoil, but the other head and cylinder and pistons are in perfect condition. Transmission, R bikes, late 90's models I got an extra transmission with a R1100R that I bought a few years ago. The guy had it thinking he would swap it with the one that was in the bike because it had the token "slip" that these bikes had for a while. This transmission is the updated model with no "slip". There is one mounting tab that is broken but the "guts" and case are in good shape. You should be able to swap the front plate from any transmission and put on this transmission and have one that will run smoothly. I can email pics. on request.
