PHOTO GALLERY INSTRUCTIONS

Priority #1 is your FACE.
Priority #2 is your bike.

We need your face. You can be creative and include your BMW in the photo, but it is not necessary.

Tip - When choosing a photo, please consider the following:
If you were at a rally, would somebody be able to recognize you from your pic in the IBMWR Photo Gallery?

FORMAT
I prefer that you email your photo to me in .jpg format. I can also accept .raw .png .gif or .tif formats. Be aware that some digital cameras record images in their own proprietary format. In that case you will need to open up the photo on your computer and do a "Save as" and save the image in one of the more universal formats like .png, .jpg, .gif, & .tif.

I NEED BIG PICTURES.
If you have a scanner, please set it at 200% image size for 3½ x 5 or 4 x 6 originals. If the original is smaller than that, then set your scanner for 300% instead. I will re-size it to fit the Gallery layout. I can make it smaller with no loss of quality, but I cannot make an image bigger without losing something. If you are using a digital camera, please use the higher resolution and set it for 1000 x 1400 pixels, minimum. So, bigger is better. Please send me BIG pics.

QUALITY
In addition to big, I need good. When scanning, please choose the highest resolution available from your scanner.

DON'T HAVE A SCANNER?
If you have a pic, but no scanner, you can still be included. If you want to snail mail the pic to me, I can scan it for you. Contact me, and I'll send you my address. If you'd like your pic returned to you, then you will also need to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

DIGITAL CAMERAS
Please use the higher resolution settings. If you can define the size, then try and use 1000 x 1400 pixels, minimum. If you cannot control the size of the finished image, then please take care to get as close to your subject as possible and thereby exclude unnecessary background. Remember, we need your face, not the beautiful mountain behind you. You are the subject - ZOOM IN!

Use all of these ideas or none - you decide. I'll include as much as space allows. At least include your real name and hometown. Thanks.
