About The Banner

The Large IBMWR Banner is a 4 feet wide by 5 feet tall (1.2 by 1.5 meters) heavy plastic banner with our logo. The Small IBMWR Banner is 4 feet wide by 1 foot tall (1.2 by .3 meters). These make it easy to mark a location for IBMWR Presidents to meet at a rally or other gathering. The Banner is in fairly high demand. It has been to many rallies and has been around the world at least twice.

If possible, we ask that you affix a pin from the rally where the banner is used so we can create a visual history of where it has been. It would be a good idea to use glue to seal the pin so it does not fall off in future handling.

Please do affix pins, etc. in the border outside of the logo!

Reserving the Banner

The current list of banner reservations and where it has been for the last 12 months is below. If you would like to reserve the banner for a specific event, fill in the form below. If you have any difficulty with the form or have other questions, send mail to the maintainer of this page Sam Lepore.

Please Note:
The IBMWR Banner is available for reservation ONLY to current members of the IBMWR
and ONLY for events announced on the IBMWR mailing list.

You must include the following information to reserve the banner.

Cost of Use - Shipping The Banner

Use of the banner is free but by tradition the person reserving the banner pays the cost of shipping to the next location. It is usually not expensive (unless you wait until the last minute and have to use "express"). This also keeps from inflicting a constant drain on the IBMWR treasury.

The banner does not have to be sent express (if you act early enough). When folded, it will easily fit in a USPS Priority Mail envelope for delivery in 3-5 days.

If you like UPS or FedEx Ground, their web page will let you calculate shipping costs as well as let you track the package during transit, all from the comfort of your own browser. Even the US Postal Service has similar estimating and tracking for Express Mail on its web page.

Overseas Delivery: We have multiple banners for use in different parts of the world, but even if you have to send it overseas from the US, USPS Global Express is only about $10. USPS Global Express can take from 7 to 10 business days. Describe the banner on the US customs declaration form as "advertising material" and it will have minimal duty (according to EuroPrez Carlo Ratzersdorfer). Other international mail carriers offer options similar to Global Express.

In other countries, you should use the most cost effective but dependable means of transport. For example, Mick Furchert, keeper of the Asia/Pacific banner, has decreed: Our official method of transport will be the yellow Express Post satchels sold by Australia Post. To New Zealand and Asia, International Express Post will be the preferred method of shipping.

Whatever method you use, be sure to INSURE the shipment for $100 US (or international equivalent). If the package is lost or damaged, we will need the money to buy a replacement. Some classes of shipping with UPS and other carriers include insurance, USPS Express Mail and Priority Mail usually does not ... please check when you send it. Unfortunately, lost shipments have happened. If you do not insure it, you will be expected to help with the replacement cost!
